Exercisfältet, Naturreservat

From boom boom to almond blossom. Formerly Exercisfältet, a military training field, but now an important recreational area in Landskrona. You can follow the footpaths or just wander freely among wide-crowned oaks and a rich flora of flowers and grasses. Exercisfältet is a municipal nature reserve in the middle of Landskrona and is the last remnant of the city's northern field. Just west of the reserve runs the Skåneleden trail.

Old military area

The exercise field has a varied history. The area has been used as an airfield, golf course, motocross track and as a military training ground - the latter has given rise to the name of the reserve. Today, Exercisfältet is grazed and mowed to maintain the area's outfield character.

Young, wide-crowned oaks

The Exercisfältet is home to wide-crowned oaks that have been allowed to develop without competition for sun or space. The oaks are around 60 years old and a relatively young feature of the area, which has long been used as field land.

Flower-rich meadows

The open and dry parts of the reserve have retained their dry meadow character and are home to a rich flora of flowers and grasses. Among other things, bluebells, bluebells, almond flowers and heather grow here.

Many butterflies, including various golden and blue butterflies, thrive in the flower-rich soils. In wetter parts of the reserve you will find sedges, sorrel and goose grass.

Outdoor life

An urban nature reserve that is an important recreational area in Landskrona. You can follow the footpaths or just wander freely. Just west of the reserve is the Skåneleden trail (SL5 Öresund, stage 8). Remember to take your rubbish home.
