Description
It is mainly in the forest east of the tarn that you find the really large pines and the coarse aspens. Here the forest has been left alone from modern forestry for a long time. Many species that are not found in younger forest thrive in the dead and old trees. The coarse aspens in particular are incredibly important for many lichens and insects. The bark tick, coral fungus and large aspen tick grow here. Many birds also thrive in the forest and both nest holes and traces of three-toed woodpeckers are found on the pines.

In Bispgården, at Fors church, you drive over the Indalsälven river and then through the villages Österåsen and Västeråsen. Pass the turnoff towards Reva and after another 600 meters turn right along a forest road. Via this forest road you reach the two nearby nature reserves Ygeltjärn and Märatjärnberget.
