Description
The nature reserve at Hålsjöholmen in southern Lake Dellen is one of the county's oldest. It was established to protect and nurture the unique geology of the area.
Hålsjöholmen also offers a pine forest with elements of spruce and leaves, including coarse aspen. There is also a timber fishing cabin and a couple of fishing huts. You can reach the reserve by boat.
The area is located in southern Dellen, 11 km east-northeast of Delsbo. The same meteorite impact that created the Dellen lakes also created the unique rock type dellenite.
The western headland of Hålsjöholmen is one of the few places where this dark, fine-grained rock is found.
