Gräsberget naturreservat

A small strip of the spruce forest that previously covered the entire northeastern slope of Gräsberget has been saved here as a reserve. On 1 hectare, the spruces are waging an uneven battle against the wind until the surrounding forest grows up again.

Today, the surroundings consist of young forest and clearings. In the reserve, however, there are plenty of dead trees, stumps and windfalls. Several rare lichens, mosses and wood fungi have been found, such as wrinkled skin, lung lichen, violet-gray thorn lichen, lemon thistle and rose thistle. The abundance of dead wood also benefits various insects and birds.
