Description

Saxnäsgården is located right by the shore of Kultsjön, surrounded by the magnificent landscape of the Marsfjällen mountains. Here, you stay in the heart of the mountains, close to nature and with plenty of space for both activity and relaxation.

The atmosphere is warm and personal, making it easy to feel at home. You can come here just as happily on your own as with family or friends. After a day outdoors, guests gather in the inviting social areas to unwind and share their experiences.

There is plenty to discover around Saxnäs. During the snow-free season, hiking, excursions and fishing await in Kultsjödalen – a popular area for both beginners and experienced anglers.

When winter arrives, Nordic ski tracks and marked trails are close to the accommodation. From here, you can reach both Lapplandsleden and the Marsfjäll trails, with the option to continue towards Kittelfjäll or Borgafjäll. For a quieter day, ice fishing on Kultsjön is an excellent choice.

Saxnäsgården is a place to settle into – whether you are looking for adventure or stillness. Here, it is easy to relax, recharge and experience the mountains at your own pace.

Directions

Saxnäs is located along Vildmarksvägen, which starts in Vilhelmina. Follow the signs towards Klimpfjäll and Saxnäs, and it takes about 1.5 hours by car from Vilhelmina. With Länstrafiken Västerbotten, you can take bus 420 from Vilhelmina to Saxnäs, but make sure to check the timetable carefully, as it is often adapted to school transport schedules.

To get to Vilhelmina, we recommend traveling with Inlandsbanan, which during the summer months runs from Mora in the south or Gällivare in the north. Otherwise, there are daily buses to Vilhelmina from Umeå, Östersund and Storuman in the north.
