Welcome to the municipal bridleways! Österåker municipality works continuously to maintain and improve existing municipal bridle paths, the goal is to create long continuous routes.

Rules for well-being

On the bridleways, the rider has priority, but it is important that everyone shows each other consideration.

Riders

• Some people may be afraid of horses. Slow down and greet oncoming people on narrow stretches, stretches with poor visibility or stretches that run alongside or cross footpaths and cycle paths.
• Dismount and kick away droppings that end up on crossing footpaths or cycle paths as long as it is safe for you and the horse.
• Do not ride outside the municipality's bridleways as this may damage the landowner's property. For more information about riding and the right of public access, see naturvardsverket.se
• According to the Traffic Ordinance 1998:1276 and the Road Signs Ordinance 2007:900, it is forbidden to ride on footpaths and cycle paths.

Pedestrians

Always greet a rider you meet so that the rider sees that you are there and that the horse also pays attention to you. This is especially important if you have your dog on a lead.

Cyclist

Always reduce your speed and greet the rider. If the bridleway is narrow, show extra consideration by standing to one side.

Hunter

When you, as a hunter, meet riders along the trail, greet them and inform them of the duration of the hunt.
