Kägelberget naturreservat
- Nature reserve

Description
The municipality's largest nature forest reserve and where old shepherd's paths provide good opportunities to experience the area.
Kägelberget's eastern slope is steep and the forest is old, coarse and highly mature. The forest has not been managed using modern methods and there is plenty of dead wood lying criss-cross. A variety of lichens, mosses, wood fungi, insects and birds thrive here. It may feel like walking in the wilderness - but 100 years ago there was a lot of hustle and bustle with lots of people and animals in the nearby pastures. In winter, the charcoal burners and lumberjacks were busy.
If you follow the path up to the top of Skinnaråsen, 486 meters above sea level, you will find a viewing tower. From the tower you get a cool view of the forest landscape and large parts of Leksand.
