Alsjöåsen Nature Reserve is perhaps at its best during the summer in the fertile forest. But the reserve is well worth visiting in spring and fall. In the area you can walk or walk your dog. Or take a break at the windbreak along the path. The Sjuvallsleden trail passes through the northern part of the area. The forest with moss mats, wood fungi and lichens offers a nice nature experience. Alsjöåsen is a 158 hectare large and varied coniferous forest area. It spreads out southeast of Delsbo in the transition between the flat coastal country and the northern mountain hill terrain. There are fertile spruce forests, rocky areas with pine forests and areas with aspen and birch.
On the inaccessible slopes, the forest has been allowed to develop freely for several hundred years. There are plenty of standing dead trees, tall stumps, lying dead trees and old trees.
Troll forest in Alsjöåsen
Those who make a small detour from the Sjuvallsleden trail that runs through the northern corner of the reserve end up in a "troll forest". Beard-like lichens that dress the trees and soft, green moss mats that embrace large boulders.
Alsjöåsen Nature Reserve is home to a number of red-listed and threatened species of wood fungi and lichens, such as the spotted spurge, scented skin and small-fingered cartilage lichen.

Regulations
You are welcome to visit the nature reserve, but please note that it is not allowed to:
- drive a motorized vehicle except on roads intended for motorized traffic.

- put up a board, poster, poster, sign or make an inscription
- damaging any fixed object or surface formation, such as moving or removing stones
- riding or cycling in the forest alongside paths and roads
- disturbing wildlife
- rock climbing.
