About the church
Mjöbäck's church was built in 1851 because the old church across the road had been condemned. The church's pulpit, carpets and more come from the local area.
Mjöbäck church is filled with local crafts. The pulpit, altarpiece and number boards were made by Johannes Johansson in Tokabo, who almost certainly had help from his aged father, the famous "pulpit maker" Johannes Andersson in Ölsbo. These skilled woodworkers from Tokabo have left their mark and have decorated some 40 churches around Sweden.
The baptismal font also comes from Tokabo and was donated in the early 1900s by Johannes Bengtsson and his wife Lina in Klackhult, made by Carl Johan Johansson, Tokabo.
Other local features are the carpet woven at Kasthalls in Kinna and designed by textile artist Elisabet Brenner from Holsljunga.
