Brobacka, Naturreservat

The reserve may be small, but there's plenty to discover! Choose the yellow loop and see how the ice sheet has shaped the landscape.

Here you will find one of the country's largest giant pot fields, with around 40 glacial erratics. You will pass next to and through giant pots, come to a viewing platform overlooking Åsjön and the legendary rock shelf "Brudsängen", and then further up to the view on "Vårräkneberget".

The yellow circular trail is about 1 km long nature and culture trail, with signs about the area's nature and cultural history. The terrain is hilly in places and there are some roots and stones on the paths. Also note that there are large differences in level in the area. There are two more trails in the reserve. The red marked circular trail (which goes partly outside the reserve), runs through coniferous mixed forest, Knipe bog and past two viewpoints. The blue trail leads through meadows and pastures to a memorial stone to the battle against the Danes at Brobacka in 1566. The stone is located on a hill covered in deciduous forest. You can reach it easily and quickly via the stairs, which are located by the road next to the entrance from the county road. There are signs from the commuter parking lot.

In Brobacka there is also a Soldattorp with an exhibition. The Soldattorp and its exhibition are run by the Nature Conservation Association in Alingsås and are open on Sundays, from mid-May until mid-September. A tip is that you bring coffee to the bench tables that are a bit away. There is also a fireplace behind the croft. Don't forget to bring your own firewood.

An accessible dry toilet is available at the reserve parking lot. Shuttle parking and a bus stop are located next to the reserve.
