Description

Traditional Swedish summer pasture with cows, goats and horses.

Ransbysätern has been a summer “mountain pasture” for the residents of Ransby, in the Klarälven valley, since about a thousand years. The women who pastured the animals lived in small huts on the pasture. Cows, goats and horses still graze here during the summer.

Ransbysätern is open during the summer with a small café and simple accommodation. The huts have no electricity or running water. Chop your own wood, get fresh water from the well and enjoy the calmness. Beautiful hiking in the area.
