Minnebergsskolan

Up on the hill is Minnebergsskolan, which is a secondary school from 2021 with room for 900 students. The architectural firm Brunnberg & Forshed designed it for Arvika Fastighets AB and the main contractor was Serneke.

The building consists of five building blocks that are connected to each other via external loft corridors. The various buildings are divided into home sections for one hundred pupils each. The homestays provide pupils with a safe and small-scale environment.

Four of the buildings form a courtyard and the wooden feel is a common thread, which is noticeable both inside and in the facade of glulam. Minnebergsskolan is the winner of Grundstenen 2021 and was nominated as the only Swedish finalist for the EU prize New European Bauhaus.
