Actions
Description
A magical, large-block forest-marsh reserve in an otherwise heavily managed forest environment.
The Gocko Islands Nature Reserve was established to preserve and develop biodiversity in an area with valuable forests and wetlands. The area consists of boulder-rich forested ridges in a varied mire landscape. The forest is sparse and consists mostly of pine and spruce and although the trees are not older than about 100 years, it has begun to acquire natural forest qualities through the ongoing self thinning that has created and creates dead wood.
