Description
The mill yard is located next to the outlet of Nacka stream into Sicklasjön. Millers and workers have lived there. The two lower mill wheels in the river were used to drive flour mills as early as the 16th century. What remains of the mill yard today is a wing building from the late 18th century. The large white-plastered building above was built in 1873, as a final investment in mill operations at Nacka stream. A modern water turbine and a steam engine were installed here for use in the event of water shortages. However, the plant was soon outcompeted by the large steam mills at Danviken and Kvarnholmen.
You can see the buildings if you follow the cultural walk around Nacka ström.
