Description

In Hanstaskogen you can wander through both old coniferous forest and groves of hazel and centuries-old oaks. In spring, the forest slopes are covered with carpets of bluebells and whitethroats, while mushroom picking is one of the attractions in the fall. Much of it consists of rocky outcrops surrounded by magical natural forest with rough trees and fallen trunks. For those interested in birds, there are good opportunities to see species such as buzzards, shrikes, goldfinches, yellow sparrows and ravens, and sometimes also cuckoos, nuthatches and lesser spotted woodpeckers.

Activities And Facilities

Parking is available at Hägerstalund Inn. You reach the parking lot via Akallalänken, road 275, turn towards Hägerstalund. It is also possible to park in the neighboring nature reserves Östra and Västra Järvafältet and walk to Hansta.

Bicycle: There are regional cycle paths that connect from Igelbäcken cultural reserve and Akalla. From here you can cycle on gravel roads through the reserve and reach, for example, the neighboring nature reserves.

Subway: The blue line of the subway takes you to the final station Akalla. From Akalla it is about 800 meters to Hägerstalund's inn.

Bus: The nearest bus stops are Mariehamnsgatan and Tavastehusgatan. From there it is a few hundred meters walk to the reserve.
