Description

Krogsered church is a remarkable place with a long and fascinating history stretching back to the Middle Ages. The first church is believed to have been built here as early as the 13th century, which testifies to the importance of the site to the community for many hundreds of years.

In the 18th century, the early church was replaced by a wooden church, but as it fell into disrepair, it was decided to build a new one. The current stone church was built between 1815 and 1819 and became a beautiful landmark in the parish. However, its history took a dramatic turn when it was destroyed by fire on March 16, 1924, leaving only the walls standing.

The church was rebuilt with great care according to the original plan, based on drawings by the architect Karl Martin Westerberg. As early as 1926, it could be reopened and regain its place as a focal point in the village.

Today, visitors are greeted by a harmonious and beautiful church environment where history is ever present. Here you can not only admire the architecture but also reflect on the long continuity of the place, from medieval church building to today's rebuilt stone church. Krogsered Church is therefore a popular destination for both history buffs and those seeking a moment of tranquillity in a scenic environment.
