Effective June 23, 2026, a fire ban is in effect in Blekinge County.
Effective June 23 and until further notice, a fire ban is in effect in Blekinge County. During a fire ban, it is prohibited to light fires or use grills in forests and open fields.
The fire ban applies to forests and open fields outside of built-up areas or so close to forests that a fire could easily spread through the terrain. Activities such as lighting fires, barbecuing, and burning that use solid fuel (such as wood, charcoal, grass, brush, or branches) are prohibited.
Barbecuing is permitted in designated barbecue areas in public spaces
Barbecuing is permitted in designated barbecue areas in public spaces that are designed to minimize the risk of fire spreading. A designated barbecue area is a space built specifically for barbecuing. It is enclosed by, for example, concrete pipes or stones. There must be a wide area of ground around the site covered with gravel or other fire-resistant material.
Disposable grills are not considered permanent grill sites and are therefore prohibited during a fire ban.
Outdoor Stoves Are Permitted
You may use Trangia stoves and other outdoor stoves powered by liquid or gas if the risk of heat and fire spreading to the surrounding area is low.
