Description
Here is a section where you have the opportunity to follow a marked path / trail, making it easy to walk.
The hike from Härbergsdalen goes along a marked trail in the southern part of Daimadalen Nature Reserve. At Övre Daimasjön you turn east in the valley to get to Daima.
Daimadalen is a three-mile long forested mountain valley from Ankarvattnet almost all the way to Saxån. The forest is low-growing mountain birch forest with elements of spruce. On the northern side of the valley are the two abandoned mountain farms Daima and Värjaren. The forest near the farms has been used for firewood and timber for household needs, but otherwise the forest in the valley has been completely spared from forestry. At the bottom of the valley, the Lejar River flows westwards via lakes Värjaren and Lejaren. Upper and Lower Daima lakes, on the other hand, flow into Daimaån, which flows east towards Saxån. In the valley, the terrain is alternately marshland and solid ground. The surrounding mountains are quite low and if you don't follow the marked trails in the area, it may be a good idea to stay a bit higher up on the slopes where the vegetation is not as difficult to negotiate.
