Välkommen till Kolbäcksåns myggmuseum – det första i Västmanland!

A brand-new museum has now opened in the Gnien Nature Reserve. Here, you can learn more about our biting midges and their role in nature, both through on-site information and by scanning a QR code if you want to know even more.

The museum also offers an unusually interactive experience. From June through October, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to encounter the midges in person—a true 4D experience. 😉

You’ll find the museum at the rest area in Myrskogen, a little more than halfway between the Gnien parking lot and the bird tower. Follow the signs from the parking lot.

Welcome to a unique nature experience where the main characters are small, buzzing, and sometimes a bit intrusive—but at the same time, an important source of food for many other animals. 🦟
