Kampåsen, Naturreservat
- Nature reserve
- County: Värmlands län
Actions
Description
The reserve is rich in wetlands of various kinds. In the eastern part of the area there is a small pond, where great crested newts thrive.
The reserve consists largely of old fire-affected coniferous forest with centuries-old pines over a younger spruce generation. Sun-exposed trunks are very important habitats for many insects.
The reserve was established to preserve old coniferous forest and to benefit the area's old and dead pines. The habitats of the great crested newt will also be preserved. The area is part of the EU's ecological network of protected areas, Natura 2000.
