Sånnastigen

Experience the open and vast landscape of Sånnarna. Here, mountain sorrel, blue alder and heath flowers paint red, blue and yellow fields in the dry vegetation. Sånnarna is an old word for 'the sands'. Since the Bronze Age, the land has been used alternately for farming, grazing and fallow. The calcareous sand gives the land a special character. Unusual species such as the sand carnation and moonhorn beetle thrive here. The skylark is a characteristic bird, and wild bees collect pollen from fibroflowers and thyme in the light, sun-exposed sandy areas.
