Description

This is a legendary site on northern Bolmsö in Ljungby, Småland. The landscape is marked by stone formations near the water.

It is said that giants once lived here. They built a bridge to the mainland, and the remains are believed to be visible in the stone formations.

When people later built a church on the island, the giants became angry and threw a large stone at it.

The story explains the landscape through legend.

The site is part of the Land of Legends in Småland (Ljungby, Alvesta and Älmhult), recognized by UNESCO.

The Museum of Legends in Ljungby explains how such stories helped people interpret nature.

The site is accessible by road and suitable as part of a tour around Bolmsö.
