Description

Only three huts remain at Klövsvallen. One of them is an open picnic hut where it is possible to go in, warm up and even spend the night. The rampart is old and was built before the 18th century. There have been many more cabins on the rampart.

Sundell's shepherd's hut, northwest of the open hut.

The layout of the cottage: First cottage, large cottage with fireplace, boa and large boa.

The main cabin: To the right inside the door there is a chest of drawers with a parade towel above, fireplace, next to the wood box with lid. On the stove top there was always a carving knife, carved wood for a fire starter. If you wanted to get warm in the cottage, you put on a tar stump.

There was also a large bed with rye straw in the bottom, a home-woven coarse linen, mattress with ordinary straw on top, linen sheets over it, home-made quilt, top sheet, hanging sheet and two long pillows with Delsbo stitching. At the foot of the bed was a shelf with a hanging cloth and a smaller embroidered cloth, on top of a vase with summer flowers and various portraits.

There was also a table, four chairs, two stools, a small Delsbo cupboard, a small round table with a geranium on it and white grandmother's curtains. Cupboards for glasses, crockery and cutlery, a shelf for food and at the bottom of the cupboard were some pots. Next to the cupboard was a small bench for a water bucket and scoop.

There were home-woven rag rugs on the floor.

The front room: There was a small mirror, a couple of small hooks for clothes, a dining table and three chairs. There was a wooden box under the table, where they kept homemade barrel bread and barrel pancakes.

To the right of the boa was a sleeping place for two. A wide bed with a straw mattress, a trunk with bed linen, tablecloths, towels and some clothes, a small table, a chair and a long shelf under the roof where clothes, pots, baskets and some small items were stored.

The big hut was divided into two rooms. One room was for tools such as a scythe, harrow, spit, two copper kettles and some hand tools, and there was also an extra bed. The other room contained all the equipment for handling milk.

A mash tun, strainer, separator, butter churn, cheese vat, cheese strainer and ladles of various sizes, a copper comb for the milk, cream pots, butter churns and "laggkärl".

Outside there was a cookhouse with a roof for cheese and brass butter boiling, a brick boiler for hot water and a large wooden barrel with a lid that was filled with water carried from a spring about a hundred meters away. It was carried by yoke and two buckets. Dishwasher, cellar and there all food was stored as milk, cream etc.

Barn for six cows, two calves. On the other side of the road there was a goat house. hay barn, two barns for loose horses and sheep that went to summer pasture. A fence around the vallyckan in the lane. Recorded by Anna Andersson, Gåsbacka
