Description
The reserve is located next to Trätbodarnas fäbodar and consists of primeval coniferous forest. The Siljan Trail runs through the area and a marked nature trail takes you up the mountain and through the area.
The forest consists of dense spruce forest as well as glades and sparse pine forest. In several places, the forest is primeval as it has been largely unaffected by modern forestry. Several storm felling operations have created plenty of dead wood. Lichen, mosses, wood fungi, insects and birds thrive here. There is a resting hut at Björntjärn.
