Regulations

The right of public access also applies in protected areas, but is limited by various regulations.

Within Andersön nature reserve it is forbidden to:

  • make fires, except in specially designated areas with firewood brought in or brought out by the manager
  • felling living or standing dead trees and processing lying dead wood
  • capture, disturb or injure mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and breeding places or collect eggs
  • climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, roost or burrow
  • damaging the ground, boulders or vegetation (including dead branches of living trees)
  • picking and collecting natural products such as wood fungi, lichens and mosses, except for berries and edible mushrooms
  • collecting invertebrates, such as beetles, snails and other land molluscs
  • driving motorized vehicles other than along the road
  • constructing snowmobile trails
  • carry out commercial or non-commercial organized activities such as sporting events, tourist activities or hunting tests without a permit from the county administrative board (the permit requirement does not apply to groups with fewer than 35 participants who only engage in traditional hiking, touring or similar on a single occasion).

Different rules apply if you want to conduct any kind of activity in the area, see the relevant reserve decision for full regulations. There may also be other laws to take into account, such as the Reindeer Husbandry Act.
