Hundhagen naturreservat
- Nature reserve
- Guide: Leksands kommun
Actions
Description
The reserve is located just east of Insjön on land that used to belong to the brickworks area. Today the deciduous forest has taken over. Hundhagen is suitable to visit all year round, but perhaps the highlight is spring and early summer when the bird choir reaches its maximum.
The marked path in the southeastern part of the nature reserve leads the visitor through a jungle of deciduous forest and old clay pits that are now filled with water. Frogs gather in these water bodies to mate in the spring. The croaking calls of the males then form a sound curtain over the whole area.
Just 100 meters from the road, you can sit down in winter and study the small birds' food in peace and quiet. Leksand's bird club replenishes seeds and blubber to the delight of birds and birdwatchers. Bring your thermos and enjoy the blue tits, long-tailed geese, monkeys, treecreepers, bullfinches and more. If you're lucky, a flock of tits or a woodpecker will pass by.

Hittade hit av en ren och skär slump häromdagen när jag var ute och körde. Var tvungen att stanna och ta mig en liten vandring. Slutade med att jag var där i flera timmar och spatserade runt. Ljuvligt.
