Kayaking trail Matvik – Järnavik

Relatively open water but with islands for shelter between Matvik and Allböle. If the weather is fine and there’s no wind, it’s nice to kayak round Allböle but otherwise it’s best to carry your kayak across to avoid rounding the headland in foul weather. Between Allböle and Järnavik the route is sheltered with several lovely narrow passages between islands. Skiftesön, Dragsö, Tjärö and Bjärnö are all idyllic in different ways. The last bit in to or out of Järnavik is edged with rocks and a nice little harbour.
