Böna Café

By the coast just outside Gävle, you’ll find Böna Café – a charming café where genuine craftsmanship meets locally produced ingredients. Inspired by Carl and Karin Larsson’s home in Sundborn, the interior offers a homely feeling with an atmosphere that brings the past to life.

You can sit inside or out in the leafy garden with a view over Bönaviken. The menu offers something for every taste – perhaps a prawn sandwich with a glass of wine or a cold beer, or one of the many non-alcoholic options. In summer, Pippi’s ice cream kiosk tempts with refreshing flavours, while freshly baked buns and pastries are served all year round. Don’t miss the famous Bönabulle – a unique creation with tangy sea buckthorn and sweet almond paste, sometimes served with soft ice cream for an extra treat.

From Tuesday to Friday, an appreciated soup buffet is served with two different soups, freshly baked bread, salads, pies, cakes and coffee. At weekends, the café takes it up a notch with the popular lobster soup, dessert table and even more indulgent treats.
