Kohagen is located 2 kilometers north of Surahammar. You can get to the reserve in several ways. The easiest way is to follow Ekängsvägen north from Hembygdsgården on foot or by bike. Follow the signs "Nature Reserve". You can also get to the reserve by walking along the footpath that runs along the canal bank west of Hovgården. You cross the Kolbäcksån river at Sättern and once across on the other side you follow the path north along the river. By car: Turn off road 66 north of Surahammar at the sign "Surahammar 2". Follow Dalskogsvägen to Nybyggsvägen where you turn right. After the railroad crossing, turn right at the sign "Naturreservat". Turn left at the next sign "Naturreservat" and park at Ekängstugan. Walk the path/road towards the football pitches. The entrance to the reserve is after about 100 meters on the right side.

It is forbidden to:

• drive a motorized vehicle,
• setting up a motor vehicle, caravan or trailer
• climbing a tree
• put up a board, sign, inscription, poster or similar device,
• light a fire other than in a designated place
• digging up or breaking shrubs and herbs and picking mosses or lichens, and removing birch bark
• marking out tracks or organizing orienteering
• organizing a motorcycle race, shooting competition, orienteering competition or training for it.
