Pilgrimscentrum Vadstena

At the Pilgrim Centre next to the Abbey Church, you can land in a welcoming atmosphere, where pilgrims from all over the world meet. Here you can get your final stamp, sign for your pilgrim certificate and talk about your experiences over a coffee. It is a perfect place to digest your impressions from your pilgrimage, in the café or library or out in the Monk Garden.

In the Abbey Church, where the relics of Saint Birgitta rest, all pilgrims are welcomed every evening in a pilgrim mass. You are also welcome to participate in the prayers of the hours three times a day. When the Pilgrim Centre is closed, you can be received as a pilgrim at the Abbey Church's book table.

At the Birgitta Sisters' Guesthouse you can stay overnight. You can't get any closer than that to "Birgittaarvet". Pilgrims with a pilgrim pass get a 15% discount here. You can also stay overnight and have dinner at Vadstena Folk High School.

There is plenty to do in Vadstena. Don't miss a visit to the Sancta Birgitta Monastery Museum next to the church. There is the coffin of Saint Birgitta and her prayer room. Here she prayed many times: "Lord show me the way and make me willing to walk it"
