Bosön

Bosön is Sweden's national development center for sports and the area around the facility has beautiful nature with, among other things, beaches, pier and fine coniferous forest.

Bosön has rocky ground forest and old pine forest, but also multi-layered forest with elements of spruce and leaves. Mainly birch, but also oak and aspen, make the forest airy. Some old pine trees show traces of fires that may have been caused by lightning strikes.

The site offers many beautiful views of Askrikefjärden and several key biotopes, forest areas with extra high natural values.

In 1918, the Dala Association in Stockholm leased eight hectares of land from Lidingö Villastad, mainly to grow potatoes. This became the Dalakolonin, which consists of just over 60 cottages, and even today you need to have a connection to Dalarna to get access to a cottage. The area has a small beach and a jetty.

There is a simple path around the entire headland that passes the sports institute's land. Adjacent to the institute is a 9-hole disc golf course. There is also a ski jumping tower that is not open to the public, and to the east of it there are rocks that are sheltered from the wind.
