St Lars kyrka

St. Lars' church is a classical-looking 19th-century church, with a rather characteristic tower. In the tower there is a fine carillon that plays for the city's residents five times a day. Inside the church, the first thing you notice is the lack of a traditional altarpiece. Instead, there is a marble "choir wall" that encloses almost the entire choir. The former altarpieces, painted by Pehr Hörberg, are now placed on each side of the large organ. At the church's former northern gate is the church's baptistery, the gate has been replaced by a glass work of art by Staffan Löwstedt. At the bottom of the church is the congregation room where different groups can meet and in the church square there is room for the church coffee etc.
