Södra Finnöskogen naturreservat

Södra Finnöskogen is located at the far end of Södra Finnö and consists of a representative and biologically valuable archipelago forest with old rocky ground pine forest and swamp forest with elements of spruce. The variation in topography and humidity, as well as a large amount of old trees and dead wood, creates a diverse natural forest where several different plant and animal species can find living space. The forest is largely untouched by extensive forestry. The reserve currently lacks special facilities for outdoor recreation such as parking and hiking trails. From the land side, the reserve is quite inaccessible, but a forest road leads to the northwestern boundary of the reserve. From the water side, you can get to the reserve by kayak or if you skate in winter. For the bathing enthusiast, there are good opportunities for swimming from the smooth rocks.
