Beskrivelse
Around the middle of the 19th century, the Gamla Motala Verkstad area along the Göta Canal was its own community alongside the market town, what is now central Motala. It had everything you needed: a swimming pool, Folkets Hus, theater and an association life. Sweden's first consumer association was also founded here.
Much of the old is still preserved and here you can stroll between old cranes and red buildings.
