Cykeltur 2: Hylinge-Östra Ryd-Kulefall

Difficulty: Some parts hilly, car traffic

Cycle west from Söderköping towards Hylinge Castle, which dates back to the 14th century. Follow the road towards Gårdeby. The landscape around Gårdeby is classified as a national interest for cultural environment protection for, among other things, a well-preserved building and its many ancient remains. In the community of Östra Ryd you will find a small grocery store and a medieval church. There is an agricultural museum at Hållstad in the summer. At the southern tip of the tour there is a landscaped and bird-rich lake called Kulefallssjön. Parts of "Madicken" were filmed at Brotorp old school. You also pass Bleckstad village with roots from the Middle Ages.

A tip for the bathing enthusiast! If you feel like taking a short detour, Skiren bathing place is not far from the main route. At Kulefallssjön, continue straight past the lake towards Ringarum instead of turning left towards Söderköping. After 1.6 km, follow the swimming sign to the right. After about 800 meters you are at Skiren!
