Beskrivelse
Alenäs consists mainly of lakes and open wetlands surrounded by deciduous and coniferous forest. The reserve also contains small winding former fields between oak-covered hills. Birdwatchers can find many exciting species here.
The varied and undisturbed nature in Alenäs favors bird life. Characteristic wetland birds such as whooper swan, snipe and snipe can be found here. Alenäs is a rich owl site that is well known among birdwatchers. Here you can listen for pearl owls, sparrow owls and barn owls. Pickelsboålan and the surrounding wetlands are popular resting places for swans, ducks and geese during spring and fall. It can be a little difficult to reach the lakes and open water areas in the reserve as there are no marked trails.

Alenäs ligger i Halmstads kommun.Bil: Från vägen mellan Simlångsdalen och Femsjö, ca 2 kilometer norr om Bygget sväng mot Pickelsbo. Efter 3 kilometer tag höger på skogsbilväg och fortsätt någon km fram till Alenäs där man kan parkera. GPS (WGS84): Lat N 56° 50’ 37" Lon E 13° 15’ 45".
Forskrifter
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- disturbing wildlife, e.g. by damaging or taking eggs and bird nests
- damage vegetation, for example by breaking twigs, digging up plants and cutting trees
- bringing an unleashed dog
- damaging the area's bedrock or loose soil
- littering
- driving motor vehicles on roads other than those leading to designated parking areas
- making fires
- camping.
