Boo gamla kyrkogård

Boo's old cemetery is not actually in Boo but on Skogsö, across from Baggensstäket. From the 1630s, when Boo had a chapel, coffins were rowed here across the water. During the plague epidemic of 1710, 177 people were buried here. There are probably also unnamed graves of Swedes who died in the battle against the Russians in 1719, which took place nearby. Today, both the nature and the graves give an old-fashioned impression.

Stop for a while at the site if you follow the cultural walk on Skogsö or just happen to be passing by!
