Agenda 2030 Mål 9: Hållbar industri, innovationer och infrastruktur

The municipality is working to develop reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure such as water and wastewater networks, the municipal road network and broadband (target 9.1).

Broadband expansion also leads to more people having access to information and communication technologies (prerequisite 9.C). In Åtvidaberg municipality, the broadband network is being expanded continuously. In 2014, 31% of households had access to broadband with at least 100 Mbit/s; in 2018, the figure was 74%.

Through collaboration between the municipal organization, the business community and other actors, efforts can be made to switch to more efficient use of resources and more environmentally friendly technologies (sub-target 9.4).

The municipal energy and climate advisory service and the national project Coach for Energy and Climate offer companies guidance on how they can improve their energy efficiency and thus both reduce their climate impact and increase profitability.

The Circular Economy through Industrial Collaboration project runs until 2023 and is another example of how the municipality is working with the business community to enable new innovative collaborations with major climate and environmental benefits and increased competitiveness.
