STF Storjungfrun Skärgårdsstugor Söderhamn

The Storjungfrun island is approximately 3.5 kilometer from north to south and 1.5 kilometer wide. About 14 kilometer of marked rambling trails are waiting to be explored. The island is relatively unexploited with a varied landscape, a rich flora, and several historical sites with major significance for open-air leisure and recreation.

In Fyrhamnen there is a waste collection point, composting toilet and a wood-fired sauna. The guest harbour has places for 25 boats. The municipality has four cabins for hire close by the lighthouse. Conference facilities for 15-20 participants are also available, with a self-catering kitchen, a two-bed room and a dormitory building that houses 10 persons. The largest sandy beach on Storjungfrun, Toppatall, has barbecue sites, jettys and a composting toilet. The beach is a popular destination for boating trips, and for swimming.

The island has no electricity; stoves and fridges are run on gas. There is freshwater for cooking and cleaning, but you need to bring drinking water!

Reaching Storjungfrun by taxi boat: Please book transportation when you book your accomodation.

During the season the boat runs on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Departure from the Stenö jetty at approximately 2:00 pm
Return trip leaves Storjungfrun at approximately 3:15 pm.
