Bladmyran och Granskogen, naturreservat

In Granskogen there are different types of biotopes, such as alder swamps, swamp forest and old spruce forest. At Bladmyran there is an old stand of spruce in a shallow ravine between two hills. The area has long been known as an interesting forest area. You can take a break or have a barbecue at the windbreak.

The forest is now about 100 years old and unusually coarse due to the high quality. There are spruces up to 80 centimeters in diameter at breast height.

Some dead spruces have fallen to the ground. In the past, a small stream ran through the area, which has now been replaced by a deep ditch. Some large spruces have also been removed, which is why the forest is now much sparser than before.

Herbs dominate

In addition to spruce, there are elements of aspen, birch, alder and noble deciduous trees. Of the latter, lime is the most abundant, with several large and many smaller trees. The undergrowth is dominated by herbs, ferns and bracken.

Large parts of the ground are covered by a sparse carpet of woodland and meadow bracken with elements of raspberry, stinging nettle, red campion and witch hazel.

Interesting species are present

The flora indicates that the soil is rich in nitrogen - probably as a result of drainage. Despite this, the flora is very rich and contains many demanding species. Some of the most interesting species are the oxeye daisy, goldenrod, foxglove, dwarf horsetail, musk and greater celandine.

The calcareous shrubs try, tibast and moonberry also occur in the area.
