Lill-Närfjällsleden

Start this trail at Myrflodammen. In the beginning, the trail crosses several small bogs where there are plank walkways. It continues through the valley between Stor-Närfjället and Lägerdalsfjället. After about 3,5 km, you arrive at the Kruggbäcken valley, which is very rocky in several places. Here, you have to cross a couple of rock mounds that have large boulders. The Kruggbäcken stream crosses the trail a number of times.

After a few kilometers of easier terrain, the trail swings off to the west into the valley between Stor-Närfjället and Östra Granfjället, here it is rocky in places. Leaving the valley, the trail is once again easy to walk despite the slight incline up to Närfjällsstugan. Here at the cabin/hut there are magnificent views in all directions. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Städjan (Idre) in the north and Trysilfjäll (in Norway) in the west. The cabin has an iron stove and an emergency telephone. After a well-earned refreshment break, continue towards Orrliden. The trail runs straight across Stor-Närfjället and the walk is easy. After around 1,5 km, you reach the top of the mountain, 931 metres above sea level. Continue towards Orrliden. Beginning to go gently downwards, the trail gradually becomes steeper and stonier before once again leveling out. The trail continues along the edge of an area of summer cottages until it reaches Jens Brittas väg. After 150 m on Jens Brittas väg (Jens Brittas road), turn right onto Orrlidsvägen (the Orrlid road).

Continue on Orrlidsvägen for about 1 km, to the parking area at the supermarket Hemköp. It is useful to have two cars for this walk. Park one of the cars by the supermarket Hemköp in Tandådalen and then drive to Myrflodammen and start the trail. If you only have one car, you can walk from supermarket Hemköp in Tandådalen to Myrflodammen along rv 66, a further 5 km walk.
