102. Jougdadalens EkoLäger - Blomhöjden (medel)

Here is a section for those who want a little challenge. There are a few paths or trails, but the forest is probably relatively unknown. Inspire the rest of us with your hiking experience and pictures from here. Unknown forests need to be discovered and highlighted in the fight for the conservation of the mountain forest.

The approach to Jougdadalens EkoLäger goes from the road between Risede and Svansele, up to Djuptjärn and Jougdadalens nature reserve. The first kilometers go next to the stream from Djuptjärn through older spruce forest. When you reach 500 m above sea level, marshes take over, with forest islands of old spruce forest with some deciduous elements. At Djuptjärn and EkoLägret there is an open wooden hut with room for 4-6 people to spend the night. Around Djuptjärn there are so-called "boundary stones" that marked reindeer grazing in the past. Up on the hill northeast of the tarn, about 700 m above sea level, you have a nice view north towards Borga and Marsfjällen.

The hike further to Blomhöjden, about 3 miles, goes through almost untouched old-growth forest with marsh elements and some lower mountains, Grå- and Sjoutfjällen and Tjelliken are next to Blomhöjden. In the area there are, among others, bear, lynx, wolverine, hawk owl and lapwing.
