Paddling: Nybyn - Överkalix camping

Start at the rest area below the bridge and paddle downstream of the Kalix River. You have one of many opportunity to go ashore at the rest area in Tallvik. This place can also be an alternative starting point, especially if you are a group.

As you approach central Överkalix, you can take the opportunity to paddle into Tallviksavan (at low water levels it may be too dry to do this).

Be sure to cross the river to its southern side before the bridge and it will be easier for you to glide towards Överkalix camping and go ashore there.

Good to know!

This route is suitable for experienced paddlers since you're paddeling on a high level river with streaming water.

Canoes can be rented from Överkalix campsite/Explore the North.
