Lina old-growth mountain forest is a vast nature reserve with coniferous forest, large wetland areas, lakes, watercourses and low fells covered in mountain birch that rise here and there. The area is a link to the range of unique, undisturbed forest ecosystems in protected areas along the montane rim. The nature reserve Lina old-growth mountain forest is 981 square kilometres in size.

The nature reserve lies about 10 kilometres north of Gällivare. You can take the train to Harrå or Fjällåsen. There are roads to Latnivaara, Pauki, Avvakko or Tjautjas.
