Anojärvi kristallklara vatten och sandstränder

The northern part of the municipality offers adventure. The forests around the village of Kitkiöjärvi have long been known for the Muonionalusta meteorites, where the first 7.5 kg stone was discovered in 1906 and the area still attracts meteorite hunters from all over the world to find new finds.

Anojärvi is the lake with its crystal-clear waters and sandy beaches stretching out along the pine heaths. Here you can rent your own cabin from the local village association, go fishing and end the day with a hot sauna and a dip in the lake, then explore the area further with bear safaris, hiking in ice age gorges or canoeing.
