Bränntjälen

The northern part of Bränntjälen is home to the part of the reserve that most resembles natural forest. The forest is bright and open, with dead trees lying here and there. There are also a few older pines here that are 350 years old. The roads take you right into the area.

To the south is an old, dilapidated croft. From the croft, there is a wonderful path heading eastwards. The forest here is a 150-200 year-old pine forest.

In the east, the spruce forest is robust and thick, between 100 and 200 years old.
