Ekmiljö norr om Boholmen

North of Boholmen is an area rich in large old oaks. The oaks are home to unusual lichens such as shadow angelica, yellow drop lichen and sooty lichen, and unusual fungi such as oak tick and pale tick. In a damaged trunk of one of the old oaks there are holes from the unusual beetle shipworm fly.

Next to the footpath Elfviksleden and Lidingöloppet along northern Kyrkviken, stands Lidingö's largest oak. It is protected as a natural monument.
