Het reservaat ligt twee mijl ten noorden van Strömsund. Vanaf weg 342 ten noorden van Strömsund gaan we af richting Risnäset, maar na drie kilometer gaan we rechts een bosweg in. Na bijna drie kilometer is het reservaat bereikt.

Welcome to Höjden Äspnäs. Keep in mind that within the reserve it is not allowed to:

• make fires, except in specially designated places
• felling living or standing dead trees and reprocessing lying dead wood for the purpose of burning
• capture, disturb or injure mammals, birds, frogs and reptiles, as well as damage their nests and spawning grounds or collect eggs
• climbing nest trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, roost or burrow
• disturbing the ground, boulders or vegetation
• picking and collecting natural products (wood fungi, lichens and mosses) except berries and edible mushrooms
• collecting invertebrates, such as beetles and land molluscs
• driving a motorized vehicle off-road throughout the area marking trails, organizing orienteering checks or organizing competitions
• constructing snowmobile trails.
