Omschrijving
The reserve is one of very few naturally forested areas along the coast of Västerbotten. It is situated just 6 km from the sea and Kinnbäcksfjärden.
As a result, Degerforsheden is an important haven for many virgin forest-dwelling plants and animals. These include birds such as the hazel grouse, the capercaillie, the wood sandpiper, the black woodpecker, the three-toed woodpecker and the black grouse.
In a number of places, the pine forest contains several generations of pines that have sprouted after various forest fires. These generations are approximately 120, 200 and up around 300 years old.

Het reservaat is 6 km NV over Kinnbäck. In het vlakke kustlandschap van het noordelijkste deel van Skellefteå gemeente en dicht bij de grens met Norrbotten.
