Duvestubbe

Duvestubbeskogen is a nature reserve located on the outskirts of Ödåkra community. The site has an interesting past as a burial ground at the junction of three parishes. Today there are walking paths, shelters and two barbecue areas that you can use.

In Duvestubbe, you can experience stately pillared hall-like forest with tall trunks interspersed with exciting compact shrubbery. The oldest trees are 120-year-old beeches and hundred-year-old oaks. You can also see the remains of very old stone walls marked on 18th century maps.

There is water in several places. A pond in the southwest and marshland in the northwest. You can follow the babbling Välabäcken stream through the forest. The marsh in the northeast is the remains of an old mill pond that later also produced electricity for the nearby liquor factory in the early 1900s.

In the Duvestubeskogen forest you can see a rich selection of plants. Brilliant yellow columbine or blue-violet evergreen. Unusual orchids such as the purple-flowering St. Peter's keys or the purple-green woodland knotweed. If you're lucky, you might see stoats. Or small weasels, deer, frogs and pheasants.

Just north of the forest is Starke Tufve's cottage, a museum about the legendary Starke Tufve who ran Duvestubbe farm in the 18th century. The museum was built as early as 1890, and is thus Helsingborg's oldest museum.
